      Nanushka
Founded in 2006, it took almost ten years for Nanushka to make a name for itself and become a favourite brand among influencers. Dreamed up by Sandra Sandor, the label was named after her childhood nickname. Very early on, this young woman was highly conscious of the fashion industry thanks to the children's clothing line launched by her mother during Hungary's Communist regime. Admiring her courage, she decided to follow in her footsteps and produced Nanushka's first collection as soon as she graduated from the London College of Fashion. Her thesis revolved around the Bauhaus movement and the notion that 'form follows function.' Function defines form, also shaping the brand's DNA, translating into practical pieces that don't crease easily and are comfortable yet elegant to wear. The highly creative Sandra Sandor teamed up with her fiancé, Peter Baldaszti, who joined in 2016 as CEO and propelled Nanushka into the limelight. Satin wrap dresses, oversized padded jackets and embossed banana bags were a roaring success on social media, becoming huge hits donned by Camille Charrière, Gigi Hadid, Aimee Song and Charlize Theron.
Nanushka creates an East-meets-West fusion, inspired by spiritual journeys with a variety of cultural references. It reflects a desire to explore the world, firmly rooted in the designer's Hungarian background. Devoted to her country as well as values advocating tolerance, respect for others and the planet, Sandra Sandor takes pride in producing over 85% of her creations in Hungary to reduce her carbon footprint and maintain transparency in her logistics process. She also prioritises organic and recycled materials, while ensuring all her employees are given fair working conditions. Washable vegan leather was introduced for this reason, becoming a key material in Nanushka collections from both an ethical and pragmatic perspective.
