      The story of the brand K-WAY began in 1965 when the visionary Frenchman Léon-Claude Duhamel had a revelation while waiting for the metro during a downpour. Irritated by the discomfort of bulky rain jackets, he had the idea to create one that was light and foldable. The name "k-way" was born of the fusion of the English words "quay" (as in, quay of the metro) and the "way" towards a new solution in rain protection. In 1966, the brand presented its first foldable waterproof jacket, revolutionising the outwear industry. Made of coated nylon, the jacket quickly won over the public. The innovative design made a strong impact in the 70s and 80s becoming a symbol of style and function. Over the years, K-WAY evolved and extended its range to include other items like trench coats, polos, and shorts.
