      Whoever said men can't have elegant undergarments? Certainly not Charles Belpaume, founder of HOM. Working as an independent designer for a women's lingerie brand, he couldn't help but feel indignant at the meager offerings in men's underwear. Based in Marseille's Porte d'Aix neighborhood, Belpaume founded HOM in 1968. At the time, men's undergarments came in formless white cotton that was as difficult to maintain as it was dull. The visionary creative decided to reinvent the underpant by making it stretchy and comfortable. Dreaming up a whole host of boxers and briefs, elegantly cut and in fine fabrics, the label was a hit. In 1995, HOM launched a sportswear line, taking on French athletes Jean-Pierre Papin and Richard Dacoury to lead the ad campaign. In 1997 HOM unveiled the HO1, which would become the label's claim to international fame. Handmade in twelve steps using modal cotton thread, the integration of a horizontal opening totally revolutionized men's underwear. In fact, the model was even worn by President Bill Clinton. Craftsmanship and creativity have always been the core values at HOM, distinguishing them from the competition and establishing their expertise in undergarments. Today, the collections are wider than ever, including loungewear, pajamas, socks, and swimsuits. HOM is also known for innovations like the CleanCut and Muscle Recover — a seamless second-skin made of intelligent fabrics that support muscle repair.
