      Coach Women
The embodiment of the American dream, Coach was established in 1941 in New York, by the couple Miles and Lilian Cahn. It started as a discreet family workshop of six artisans specialized in handmade lighters, cigar cases and wallets. Years later, its founder expanded the range by using solid and flexible leather (inspired by baseball gloves) to make bags. A technique that became over the years the signature of the label. Upon her appointment in 1962, the stylist Bonnie Cashin designed the Coach logo (depicting a coachman on a carriage driven by two horses), as a way of evoking elegance and tradition from another century. Carried by her bold vision, the new recruit introduced new colors and blending of materials within the leather goods collections, as well as new accessories: pens, shoes, glasses...In the following years, designers succeeded one another. In 1996, Reed Krakoff celebrated the craftsmanship and optimism of an authentic American style. In 2014, Stuart Vevers brought in a fresh creative viewpoint, by imagining collections associated with freedom and inclusivity, speaking to a new generation, its celebrities and millennials in the likes of Kate Moss and Zayn Malik. In 2017, Stuart Vevers received the Council of Fashion Designers of America's Accessories Designer of the Year Award and the American Apparel & Footwear Association's Designer of the Year Award for his work at Coach. While the brand is predominately known for its signature bags, it also offers a stylish ready-to-wear line. The pieces are produced in the most sustainable way possible, reaffirming Coach's commitment to social and environmental responsibility.
