In 1994, Jacques Marie, a great French entrepreneur, took over an old weaving and knitting factory in Vagney, right along the Vosges national park in north-eastern France and he began the new adventure of reopening this abandoned factory. One year later, he founded Bleuforêt, a French sock brand. While it started out with women's collections, it grew to include socks for the whole family, adding in men's socks in 1998. Its name a reference to the mountains of the Vosges, the brand makes its socks in natural fibres originating in France, Italy or Germany, paired with high-end materials, like combed cotton, Scottish thread, merino wool or cashmere. The brand is proud of its knitting savoir-faire and in 2007, Jacques brought onboard his oldest son, Vincent, to help run company, turning the whole thing into a family affair. Each day, over 300,000 pairs of socks are made in the factory, with 800 styles per season. Committed to the environment, Bleuforêt focuses on ethical and sustainable manufacturing for responsible fashion. Thanks to a hydroelectric turbine implanted in the factory, the site does not release any CO2 into the surrounding Vosges mountains. In the brand's 25+ years of existence, Bleuforêt has become the top national producer of quality socks and tights, with timeless low socks to wear with tennis shoes, mid-calf styles for higher shoes, and even higher styles for boots. Discover the Bleuforêt collection and enjoy an embarrassment of styles.
