      Reese Cooper Men
On our growing list of young prodigies, Reese Cooper's a tough one to miss. At the tender age of 21, he's earned bragging rights after having conquered the US and Europe with his globally-distributed eponymous label. Born in Florida, he would move to Atlanta with his family before settling in London, where his interest in fashion would only grow throughout his adolescence. On Tumblr, the teen would come across a BAPE jacket that he couldn't afford, but that got him wondering how certain pieces were made. He would soon begin interning with Craig Ford, founder of the marketing and PR agency a number of names* (anon*), well-known in the industry for pushing brands like Billionaire Boys Club, ICECREAM, and BAPE to the top of their game. At 19, Reese Cooper became a consultant for the EJDER boutique in London, along with adidas U.K. Such opportunities would push him to start his own venture. In 2016 the self-taught designer launched his own label, kicking off with a collection named "Spoiled Children," a dig at classmates he didn't like. What began as a hobby quickly became a flourishing business, supported by a small team composed of a full-time assistant and Cooper's mother, who takes care of communications and judicial affairs at the London location. Now based in Los Angeles, the young creator has streamlined an aesthetic that's both functional and urban. Interested in architecture and engineering, Cooper dreams up garments with utilitarian references and an outdoorsy feel, as we see in army surplus bags that he's transformed into durable pieces that hold up to hard wear. Academia is also a reference here, where season after season we've seen varsity-style jackets, comfy hoodies, and logo-emblazoned accessories. Nominated to the CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund in 2019 and supported by Virgil Abloh, Reese Cooper has what it takes to became a big name in the industry.
