The story of Oribe wouldn't exist with its founder, Oribe Canales. Born in Cuba in 1956, he immigrated to the United States as a child. At 18, he started attending cosmetology school in Buffalo, New York. Between theory and practice, he knew he had found his path. In 1987, the hairdresser opened his first salon at the Parachute Store on Columbus Avenue in New York City. In his boutique, the most famous celebrities in the world came in to get their hair done: models Christy Turlington and Cindy Crawford, as well as the actress Sarah Jessica Parker. And in 1995, he launched his eponymous brand, Oribe, offering luxurious haircare products with innovative effects.
