Between winter sports and space travel, the Moon Boot has established itself as an iconic shoe around the world. When Neil Armstrong took his first steps on the moon in July 1969, Giancarlo Zanatta was in front of the television - like millions of others around the world - in the city of Montebelluna in northern Italy. More intrigued by the shoes that touched the surface of the moon than the historic moment itself, the visionary inaugurated his outdoor shoe brand just a few months later, and Moon Boot was born. From the 1970s to the 1980s, the company's après-ski look instantly appealed to the public. Comfortable, oversized and offbeat, the Moon Boot was instantly beloved by fashion addicts, first for ski vacations and then for city looks. With crepe soles, padded nylon and a lacing finish, there's something for everyone. The boots are water resistant, ultra-light and super warm, inspired by vintage fashion and with widespread appeal, tempting celebrities like Rihanna, Dua Lipa, and Gigi Hadid. In 2000, the Moon Boot appeared at an exhibition at the Louvre as part of the 100 design symbols of the 20th century. Beyond the ski universe, the brand has also found its place on the runways of the biggest fashion houses, like Dior, Dolce & Gabbana, Chloe and Kim Shui. Among its many collaborations, there was one with the French brand Bonpoint which used Liberty and Palm Angels prints for an exclusive children's collections. The Moon Boot is universal, with models that have endured since the 70s like the Icon, the brand's first timeless look, the Low Black and Cream, the sequined Icon, the Red Icon, and the Mule model, the low-top favoured by It-girls.
