    BOTTER

Long relegated to the background, men's fashion is now as diverse and important as its female counterpart. Leading this revival, the brand Botter, founded by Rushemy Botter and Lisi Herrebrugh, stands out as one of the new labels to watch. Colorful, Botter's fashion is inspired by the sunny roots of its creators - Curaçao for the first, the Dominican Republic for the second. Raised in Amsterdam, the duo has known each other since childhood for a reason: Rushemy is a friend of Lisi's older brother. At the end of their teenage years, they take different paths. While Rushemy goes to study at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Antwerp, Lisi stays in the Dutch capital where she continues her training at the Amsterdam Fashion Institute. The duo reunites during Rushemy's graduation collection, which simultaneously gives birth to the brand. A couple in life as well as in the studio, their professional organization is simple: Rushemy designs while Lisi manages the 3D and 2D sketches. Together, they begin to get noticed. First at the Hyères Fashion and Photography Festival, where they win the Grand Jury Prize 2018, then, a few months later, when they reach the finals of the equally prestigious LVMH Prize. At the end of August 2018, the duo is selected to take over the artistic direction of the house Nina Ricci, which has been vacant since Guillaume Henry's departure in March. A few weeks later, they present a first collection that skillfully blends chic and casual, ideal for renewing the wardrobe of the Nina Ricci woman. But far from being elitist in the face of its success, the brand Botter multiplies collaborations to showcase its vision. From Nike to Petit Bateau, the capsule collections are numerous and testify to a still too rare openness in the luxury world. The label is also gradually opening up to the female audience, offering a mixed wardrobe perfectly suited to contemporary fashion. Cool and genderfluid.
