FAGUO, which means "France" in Mandarin, reflects Frenchness in terms of style of course, but not only: It's also by its increasing discipline and unfailing environmental commitment that the brand stands out. It's a member of the very exclusive B-Corp club, a highly demanding certification granted to companies meeting high standards when it comes to society, the environment and transparency. Created in 2008 by Frédéric Mugnier and Nicolas Rohr, the label embodies fair fashion the French way and never loses sight of its commitment to fighting climate change. The company works systematically to measure, reduce and compensate for its carbon emissions, and also to recycle and upcycle. FAGUO supports its clients and its products, taking back used items and holding free bi-monthly ateliers teaching people how to repair them. By choosing its partner ateliers (in Vietnam, China, France and Morocco) based on strict criteria like salary and by being open about the data, the company is a testament to a rare sort of transparency. In their cult women's and men's sneakers, we find fairly-sourced leather as well as recycled objects and materials (like tennis balls). A bit retro, the brand's sporty-chic running and tennis shoes are made to last and a tree is planted for each pair or item of clothing. Today, France is home to over 300 FAGUO forests.
