Rains Men

Specializing in waterproof parkas, it's no surprise that Rains was born in Denmark — where on average, it rains 170 days a year. Daniel Prix and Philip Lotko joined forces to create the perfect garment for such an environment. Meeting at the TEKO design school before launching their brand in 2012, the endeavor was based on their shared wish to take a new approach to functional design. They chose to zoom in on a single product: the poncho, creating one from a natural rubber-derived material. The following season, Rains extended its line with a complete collection of clothes, bags, and accessories, all created to resist rainy days. The label uses innovative textiles with rapid-dry and moisture-wicking properties. From hood to toe, each element of each piece is thought-through to the smallest detail in order to guarantee optimal quality for iffy meteorological conditions. Rains wants to help us see grey days differently, giving us the tools to celebrate them in style and cheerfulness. And while each piece is highly functional, that's not all: these parkas, jackets, and anoraks stand out thanks to their minimalist silhouette and sharp lines, as perfect for teens as for seniors. Featuring styles that are relaxed, tailored, long, and short, hues from somber to high-octane, and finishes lacquered and matte, there's something here for everyone. Indeed, the Rains phenomenon has been the talk of the town recently, thanks to influencers like Caroline Daur and Pernille Teisbaek, local ambassador and Scandinavian fashion icon.
