      Connecting fashion to other art forms, whether that be architecture or music, was Bertony Da Silva's founding project when he started Arte Antwerp over ten years ago as a former student in graphic design. Moved by the ambition to make his label THE reference in Belgian streetwear, the Creative Director saw his number of boutiques, and profits, double over the course of 2020. Success has come knocking, and there can be little doubt as to why — da Silva's is an explorative aesthetic, guided by the desire to share concepts and creative ideas. Linking diverse communities and incarnating them at the same time, Arte Antwerp is a hybrid label without borders. Some water has flowed under the bridge since the launch of the label's first t-shirt capsule with Anversois in 2009, and today Arte Antwerp's comfortable, urban, and subtly eccentric pieces are sported by artists and influencers worldwide. Roméo Elvis and Angèle count themselves among the label's European fans, where on the other side of the pond American rapper Freddie Gibbs is also a fan. There can be no doubt that the Brest Brand of the Year award at the 2019 Belgian Fashion Awards was simply the first in a long line of triumphs to come.
