Self Portrait Women

Originally from Malaysia, Han Chong left his country of birth to conquer the world. In 2003, he settled down in London for his studies. Passionate about fashion and couture, he attended Central Saint Martins and got his diploma a few years later in womenswear design. He wished to launch his career with a project that really spoke to people and inspired them over time. In 2013, his wish was granted: He launched his high-end read-to-wear brand Self-Portrait in his beloved London. The brand, whose name evokes women as the subject of countless visual and artistic works, quickly found its place in the world of fashion. Han's original aim for the brand was to make chic yet accessible clothing far from unreachable luxury and his bet was a real success. Celebrities around the world fell for his sexy, refined collections: American It-girl Paris Hilton on a Jimmy Fallon show, the American-British actress Sienna Miller in Ibiza, as well as Katy Perry, Chiara Ferragni, Alicia Keys and even the princesses Kate Middleton and Meghan Markle have sprung for the brand's sophisticated dresses. Since the brand's launch in 2013, they have opened stories around the world: Bangkok, Taipei, Beijing and Shanghai. Committed to sustainability and eco-responsibility, the brand produces its pieces locally in London. The pieces are defined by their refined, yet audacious silhouettes which highlight the body using transparencies and lace, linking femininity to function.
