Chloé Women

Maison Chloé was founded in Paris in 1952 by Gaby Aghion, adoptive Parisian by way of her native Cairo, with the aim of liberating women's bodies from the rigid fashions of the era with a new line of luxury ready-to-wear. Gaby brought grace and freedom of movement to her silhouettes, using colours inspired by Egypt. She invented a new allure with sensual, delicate charm, giving Chloé a very human, optimistic and open-minded appeal. It was always a unifying Maison, bringing together a community of women by giving them a voice. From the beginning, Chloé has given many their very first big opportunities, like Karl Lagerfeld, who sketched out what became Chloé's iconic romantic look. The Maison has continued to recruit emerging talent to enrich its identity over the course of decades: Stella McCartney, Phoebe Philo, Hannah MacGibbon, Natacha Ramsay-Levi, and since December 2020, Gabriela Hearst, a talented Uruguayan designer. Her arrival at the helm of Chloé reinforced the brand's social and environmental commitment. In her words, she offered "honest luxury" that paired refined urban style with more folky pieces which honour heritage artisanship. After three years leading the Maison, Gabriela Hearst announced her departure in July 2023, leaving an indelible imprint on the brand through the transmission of powerful values and commitments.
