Founded in 1982 and celebrated in the 1980s for its innovative trainers, notably the Medalist model designed for tennis, Autry tops the list of streetwear references worldwide. Just three years after its launch, the Medalist model was voted best trainer of the year in 1985 by Tennis Magazine. It was a dazzling success that stopped suddenly upon the death of its founder Jim Autry in the 1990s. The businessman took his brand with him, to the benefit of giants like Nike and Reebok. It was only in 2019 that Alberto Raengo and Régis Billard, streetwear communication specialists, resuscitated the brand by shining the spotlight on the famous Medalist. And success came once again, both thanks to old fans of the brand as well as to Generation Z. Minimalist with a resolutely vintage spirit, Autry trainers are revealing themselves to be timeless, cool and versatile.
