With the Nane, Olivia, Arc and more under her belt, Rejina Pyo proves that you can launch several It bags at once. Heading her self-titled label since 2013, the Korean designer has become one of the most successful leaders in British fashion in just a few seasons. Born in Seoul, Rejina Pyo quickly entered the world of fashion; her designer mother taught her the basics of sewing from an early age. After attending a local design school, she landed her first job at a large fast fashion brand. Nevertheless, wanting to broaden her horizons, she travelled to London in 2008 to take a course at the famous Central Saint Martins. Her popular graduate collection won the Han Nefkens Award and helped her secure a collaboration with H&M. After a few years working with Roksanda Ilincic, she launched her own label in 2013.
It wasn't an instant success. As a result of rookie logistical errors and possibly fruitless influences, business was certainly not booming. Only in Spring-Summer 2017 that the brand started to gain recognition. Distributed by the biggest resellers, rented by fashion editors and sported by leading influencers, the brand rose to the top.
The Nane and Olivia bags were spotted on various style mavens, while their ready-to-wear pieces were seen at every runway show. Inspired by modern art, Rejina Pyo strives to make clothing, she and her friends would enjoy wearing. Every season she designs skirts, tops and dresses, both comfortable and elegant, easy to pair for a day wardrobe, yet bold enough to stand out.
